Someone sent me an e-mail with links to a video and an artist's web site. Thank you for providing me with the impetus for expressing some ideas I've been considering, and for making a decision regarding the 2010 elections. :-)

YouTube uses proprietary video compression technology (Adobe Flash), which has many problems -- freedom (the lack thereof), security, privacy, etc.. Here is a recent bug report:

Accordingly, I have uninstalled Flash from all of our computers.

Based on the painting, I assume the video relates to the Christian heritage of the United States of America. Unfortunately, America's "experiment in self-governance" isn't going very well. Most Americans have forgotten the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ...

Here's my 3-step solution for fixing America's political problems, and related:

1. Register to vote.

2. Have a say in what you get to vote for.

3. Vote.

Most people understand #1 and #3, but #2 escapes them completely. They suffer from the ongoing FUD/ demoralization campaign which teaches them:

Politics are evil. So are politicians. You can't win; don't even try. Give up. Accept the lesser of two evils.

Galatians 6:7 tells us what we can expect from such decisions:

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap

I am not going to solicit, nor accept, "campaign contributions". Such is a euphemism for bribery. I will run another low-budget campaign out of my own pocket via the WWW and other public media. If elected, my only financial obligation will be to the taxpayers (who provide me with a paycheck and benefits).

The contribution I am asking for, and will graciously accept, is volunteer labor from AIP registered voters in my district who will circulate my Petition in Lieu of Filing Fee ($1,740.00) and help me get 150+ AIP signatures. I offer the same labor to AIP candidates for other offices.

Churches are in a position to help third-party and independent candidates. So, why don't they? Because their silence is purchased with tax-exempt corporate status that binds them against participating in politics. I think they have forgotten Mathew 22:21:

... Then saith [Jesus Christ] unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
